A Different Perspective

After spending 13 years as a Board Certified Family Medicine physician practicing traditional medicine within large managed care systems, I felt something was really missing in how we treated patients. I wasn’t satisfied with what I had to offer. Frustrated, I sat compassionately with my patients, watching as they struggled through their multiple medical conditions, chronic pain, crippling anxiety, deeply etched depression, and a plethora of medications wishing there was more I could do for them. A typical appointment did not allow for adequate time to fully address the underlying core of these issues. It was then I took a step back and decided on a different perspective. From this, I decided it was time for a change.

Drawing from my training in Osteopathic Medicine, I decided to approach things differently. Osteopathic Medicine realizes that each person is an integrated unit of mind, body, and spirit. Ingrained in our tenets is the understanding that the body has an innate ability and desire to heal and self-regulate. It is from this that I often return to as I approach the whole person and create an individualized treatment plan. Everyone is unique and complex, and each one's healing path looks different, so it's important to acknowledge this. Expanding on those principles, I focus on giving the patient back their agency over their health.

Methodically, we will navigate this utilizing my 6 pillars of healing and wellness. Patience is vital as all good things come with time, but I will be here to help you along the way. We'll go on this journey together. I focus on using a practical approach to empower you with sustainable habits and changes. By creating a nonjudgmental environment and providing an empathic and gentle approach to your care, I hope to hold a space conducive to healing and wellness.
